Below are our Chief Executive’s Office staff members:

Adrian Maunders, Chief Executive

Adrian has worked for both local and central government and as Group Operations Director for a stock transfer housing association (now the A2 group). His employment has predominantly been in rural areas, with a particular focus on affordable housing. Adrian joined English Rural as Chief Executive in October 2007.

Karen Eagles, Business Support Officer

Karen joined English Rural in March 2008 as the Business Support Officer. Her role includes offering support to the Senior Management Team and assisting with development and business administration. Karen is also English Rural’s Company Secretary. Before coming to work for English Rural she developed a successful career with a high street bank, was a PA at an International Company, and more latterly worked in the Political Offices at the London Borough of Brent.

Below are our Development Team:

James Taylor, Development Director and Deputy Chief Executive

James has over 30 years experience in development and construction, with the last 15 years spent in the specialist area of affordable rural housing. He was employed by English Rural in 2004 as our first Development Director and was promoted to Deputy Chief Executive in January 2007. He has been an associate member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors since 1982. James is responsible for the delivery of our development programme.

Ian Gillespie, Technical Development Manager

Ian has over 44 years experience in development and construction, with the last 29 years spent in the specialist area of affordable rural housing. He was employed by English Rural in 2010 as our Regional Development Manager covering the Thames Valley and surrounding region and was appointed Technical Development Manager in 2011. Ian is also responsible for ensuring English Rural keep abreast of innovative technology and development systems to maintain our high standard of affordable housing and also works closely with the repairs and maintenance team to deliver high quality services to residents.

Nick Hughes, Regional Development Manager

Nick is the Regional Development Manager for the Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire. He joined the organisation in 2008 from Guildford Borough Council where he worked as the Housing Development Manager. Having worked in rural Surrey for many years Nick knows the area and the affordable housing issues affecting it extremely well. His knowledge and experiences ensure that he is superbly placed to continue English Rural’s achievements. Nick is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Alison Thompson, Senior Regional Development Manager

Alison joined English Rural in 2005 and is English Rural’s Development Manager for Kent and Essex. Alison has previously worked for the Rural Housing Trust and also was the Kent Rural Housing Enabler for five years. Prior to commitment to the world of rural housing, Alison was involved in property marketing and development for twenty one years.

Below are our Housing and Property Services Team:

Martin Collett, Operations Director

Our Operations Director, Martin Collett joined English Rural in 2005. Martin is responsible for delivery of resident services and also plays a leading role in our advocacy activity, including having been recently being selected onto the National Housing Federations Influencing Academy, as the rural lead.. He is a History and History of Art graduate and Corporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing. Martin is also a Trustee of Community Action Hampshire and Committee Member for youth homelessness charity The Albert Kennedy Trust.

Dawn Cridland, Repairs and Maintenance Officer

Dawn joined English Rural Housing Association in 2014 as a Repairs and Maintenance Officer. Her role is to provide a service for reactive repairs and maintenance. Before coming to work for English Rural Dawn worked as a Contract Administrator for a local central heating company. She worked there for over 7 years and has gained a vast amount of knowledge and experience in dealing with repairs and maintenance within the heating industry.

Janette Spence, Repairs and Maintenance Officer

Janette joined English Rural Housing Association in 2012 as a Repairs and Maintenance Officer. Her role is to provide a service for reactive repairs and maintenance. Janette also co-ordinates English Rural’s planned maintenance activity, which sees an annual programme of upgrading homes. Previously Janette worked as a Contract Administrator for a Heating and Installation company and gained a great deal of experience within this Industry.

Julie Hodges, Services Assistant

Julie joined English Rural in October 2017 working part time as our Services Assistant.  Joining English Rural from a varied secretarial/admin background in legal, sales, education and most recently retail property. Her role is primarily to assist the housing and maintenance teams by supporting the effective delivery of housing and property services to the Association’s residents.

Steven Bland, Regional Housing Manager

Steven joined English Rural in 2008, having previously worked for a legal firm where he dealt with shared ownership sales. Steven was initially the Housing Services Administrator, responsible for ensuring the successful and satisfactory management of English Rural’s housing stock and supporting the external Housing Management. He became Regional Housing Manager for Essex and the Eastern region in September 2012 and is responsible for the day to day neighbourhood and tenancy management. Steven recently completed an MsC qualification through the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Jade Clark, Regional Housing Manager

Jade joined English Rural in March 2015 as a temp. In February 2016 her position was made permanent when she was appointed to the role of Housing Services Administrator.  Jade was appointed Regional Housing Manager in June 2017. She joined English Rural from a retail background where she worked for six years.

Kathryn Harrison, Housing Services Manager

Kathryn joined English Rural in 2006 as our Housing Services Co-ordinator, becoming Housing Services Manager in 2008. Her role involves liaising with regional housing management and property services colleagues to oversee the management and maintenance of English Rural homes. Before joining English Rural, Kathryn spent 3 years as a Housing Officer at Southwark and London Diocesan Housing Association. Kathryn is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Terri Browning, Housing Services Administrator

Terri joined English Rural in May 2017 working part time as our Services Assistant. In August 2017, she became a full time member of our team when she was appointed the role of Housing Services Administrator. Terri joined English Rural from a Childcare and teaching background where she worked for 8 years.

Pam Howard, Housing Services Administrator/RAFA Housing Ltd., Manager

Pam joined English Rural as Housing Services Administrator in April 2016, becoming Housing Services Administrator/RAFA Housing Contract Lead in April 2017. Her role is a varied and active one and includes managing sales and lettings, providing administrative support to the Housing Management and Repairs teams and acting as first point of contact for English Rural’s and RAFA Housing Ltd., tenants.  She joined English Rural from the Charity sector where she gained experience in community care and management.

Luke Versteeg, Regional Housing Manager

Luke joined English Rural in 2012 as Housing Services Administrator and is currently one of the Regional Housing Managers at English Rural, covering Kent, Sussex and parts of Surrey. Luke graduated from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand with a Master’s Degree in Geography and is pursuing qualifications in housing through the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Below are our Finance Team:

Ray Green, Finance Director

Ray has over 20 year’s experience in housing finance, a major part of which was as Finance Director for a Large Scale Voluntary Transfer in Maidenhead. He has raised new funding for development from both the banks and capital markets, most recently raising £150m from M&G in 2013. Ray joined English Rural in 2015. He is an Economics graduate form Nottingham University and a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy. Ray is also Finance Chair of Harrow Churches Housing Association.

Ade Balogun, Finance Administrator

Ade joined English Rural’s account team in 2011 and covers day-to-day finance issues. He has worked in the housings sector for over 19 years, undertaking a range of roles. His experience ranges from organising and delivering services within a housing environment, to arranging events and sitting on casework panel meetings. Other skills that have been developed include explaining complex information on legislation, policies and procedures; particular how these impact on residents.

Chyna Edwards-Bryce, Finance Apprentice

Chyna joined English Rural as a Finance Apprentice in 2015 and is currently studying towards a level 2 qualification in accounting through learning providers AAT and BPP and plans to go up to level 4. Her role for English Rural secures a mutually beneficial arrangement, enabling Chyna to develop her experience and skills within the housing and finance sector, whilst securing some crucial finance support for the organisation. Before working for English Rural Chyna was a football coach and referee, an interest she still pursues in her spare time.

Ferdie Lachica, Finance Manager

Ferdie joined English Rural in September 2002 as an Accounts Assistant. Over the years his responsibilities have increased and he was promoted to Finance Manager in 2014. His main responsibilities involve the preparation of the quarterly management accounts and management of English Rural’s cash. Ferdie also supervises the accounting of all transactions in the Rent accounts and Purchase ledgers.

Lorna Murdoch, Accounts Officer

Lorna joined English Rural Housing Association in 2008 as a temp. In April 2009 she became a permanent member of staff and took up the post of Accounts Officer. Her role is to maintain English Rural Housing Association and Test Valley Rural Housing Association’s rent and purchase ledgers. Before joining English Rural, Lorna worked for Stonham Housing Association as Finance Assistant.
