A new planning application has been submitted for 9 dwellings, comprising of 7 affordable and 2 open market bungalows. This application seeks to address the concerns raised with the previous application; through a considerably smaller development on a more compact site area.
The new proposal seeks to preserve the open character of the Green Belt through restricting development to the area currently occupied by the existing dilapidated barns, stables and outbuildings and replacing these units with new homes, which have a smaller building footprint to existing uses, new landscaping and quality materials, which will make a more positive contribution to the area.
The affordable homes will comprise of a mixture of 1,2 and 3 bedroom dwellings available for affordable rent and shared ownership. Priority for both the affordable and the open market bungalows will be given to local people with a connection to Hambledon.
