Repairs and Maintenance Officer

Role: Repairs and Maintenance Officer   

Salary:  £15,704.64 pro rata (£28,044 FTE)

Contract: 21 hours job share, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 9am to 5pm.

Location: Lower Eashing, Surrey

Responsible to: Head of Property Services

 About English Rural

English Rural Housing Association is a leading national rural specialist working to provide affordable homes in small villages for local people.  We own and manage around 1,250 affordable properties, spread amongst 150 villages, and have a development programme of around 200 more homes. The Association has its head office in central London with all service activity delivered from our office currently in Guildford (and moving to Lower Eashing). Following an In-Depth Assessment in 2018, the Association kept the highest regulatory judgments of V1 and G1.

About the role

As a Repairs and Maintenance Officer you will be responsible for the smooth and effective running of the repairs and maintenance system. You will provide a full repairs service for the association’s customers, ensuring efficient cover of the phone helpline. You will act as the main interface with our repairs and maintenance contractors, ensuring continuity of cover and monitoring quality and compliance.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have previous experience working within a repairs and maintenance environment. You have the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, customers and contractors and enjoy working within a small team.

In addition, you will have:

  • Experience of housing administration procedures
  • Excellent written and IT skills with good attention to detail
  • Customer focus with excellent telephone manner
  • Good analytical and time management skills

An understanding and experience of working with rural communities would be an advantage.
