Repairs & Maintenance Surveyor

Location: Lower Eashing, Guildford, Surrey
Salary: £38,948 + £5,200 car allowance per annum
Benefits: Health & welfare package and generous contributory pension scheme
Holiday: 30 days per annum exclusive of bank holidays
Contract: Permanent (37.5 hours per week)

About English Rural:

English Rural Housing Association is a leading national rural specialist working to provide affordable homes in small villages for local people.  We own and manage around 1,250 affordable properties, spread amongst 150 villages, and have a development programme of around 200 more homes. This is a new role created following a reorganisation of the resident services team. The Association has a main office in central London with all service activity delivered from a separate office in Lower Eashing.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new management level role focused on delivering a high-quality repairs, maintenance and void management. Working under the leadership of the Resident Services Director and collaboratively with housing and asset management colleagues, the role will be expected to inform and deliver agreed business strategy. Managing the performance of external contractors to achieve good value and working within agreed budgets are essential.

About you:

To succeed in this role, you will have a proven track record in working and successfully delivering a repairs and maintenance service. You will need good communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work collaborate and work effectively within a fast-paced environment. Experience in contract management, technical surveying and delivering customer satisfaction are essential. The right candidate will have sufficient technically expertise, either from a formal qualification of direct experience.
