Scheme Completed With Development Partner Grayshott & District Housing Association

Grayshott and District Housing Association (GDHA) was founded in 1935 to provide housing and associated amenities for persons of limited means residing in Grayshott and District.

Discussions started following GDHA’s review of their existing housing and English Rural providing a Development feasibility report back in 2014. In September 2015 English Rural submitted a tender for the provision of Development Agency Services to GDHA. The following year GDHA signed a Development Services Agreement with English Rural for the redevelopment of their ‘Crossways Road’ scheme.

English Rural’s Technical Development Manager, Ian Gillespie, hands keys to GDHA Chair, Teresa Jamieson, and Development Committee Chairman, Paul Hodges.

Following extensive public consultation and support a planning application was submitted to East Hampshire District Council for 14 one and two bedroom flats in February 2018 and planning permission was granted on 17th December 2018. Following a competitive tender process, Newbury developer Feltham Construction was appointed as Principal Contractor. Works commenced on site on the 17th October 2019  with the first Phase ‘Bidston Lodge’ being completed in August 2020 followed by ‘Penton Lodge’ in February 2021.

The final four units in ‘Weston Lodge’ were handed over on 20th August 2021. This achievement was celebrated by the GDHA board on site on the 23rd August where English Rural handed over the final set of keys.
