In response to conversations with Parish Councils about meeting the wider needs of their communities and increasing the tenure mix within new schemes, we have extended the choice available through the introduction of our Discounted Market Sale model. This product sits between our traditional Shared Ownership product and our Open Market Sale properties.
In many cases, these home ownership initiatives will seek to address a shortfall of property types within the local housing market, whether they be modest sized homes, catering for those entering the market for the first time, or those downsizing and wishing to remain within their community.
Proceeds from our new Open Market properties and Custom Build plots are used to subsidise the costs of the affordable homes being provided within the scheme.
